NEW: I've heard that as of later January, 2005, AOL will no longer provide newsgroups. (Guess Newsmaster page is outdated). You can still use the methods below to access newsgroups even if AOL is your dialup provider.

alt.online-service.america-online newsgroup is a good place to ask questions

The AOL server and client can only be used with each other. See AOL's news help section, much of it applicable for AOL or non-AOL.

Other news options for AOL dialup customers:

Use another newsreader (see NewsReaders.com) with another newsfeed or private servers
Use your browser with web-based newsreading sites
use mail2news and/or news2mail
